Who we are

$0.00 Cancellation Fee Plans is a DBA of 0 Commit Energy, LLC. We are a Pennsylvania electricity broker. We are not your electric utility and we are not an electricity supplier. In this policy, “we,” “us,” and “our” mean 0 Commit Energy, LLC, and “you” means anyone visiting this site.

You can write to us at 4550 Lena Drive, Suite 201, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, call 1-800-698-5853, or email hello@0cancellationfee.com.

What this policy covers

This policy covers 0CancellationFee.com — the pages you are reading now.

It does not cover the shopping experience. When you enter your ZIP code and go on to compare plans, you move to a separate shopping site with its own privacy policy. That is where enrollment happens, and where you would be asked for details this site never asks for — your date of birth, your utility account number, and your service address among them. Read that site’s privacy policy before you enroll.

It also does not cover your electric utility, or the supplier whose plan you choose. Each of them handles your information under its own policy.

Information you give us

Your ZIP code

When you enter a ZIP code, we use it to find the electricity plans available for your address. We do not ask for your name or your street address on this site in order to show you plans.

The contact form

If you send us a message, we receive your name, your email address, what you wrote, and your phone number if you chose to give one. We use it to answer you. The phone number is optional, and giving it is not a condition of anything.

Calls and emails

If you call or email us, we keep what you tell us so that we can help you and so that we have a record of what we told you.

What this site does not ask you for

This site has no accounts and no sign-in, so there is no password and no profile. It does not ask for your utility account number, your date of birth, or your service address. Those belong to enrollment, which happens in the shopping experience.

Information collected automatically

This site is served from a content delivery network. Its logs record each request: the page or file asked for, the date and time, the browser and its version, the operating system your browser reports, the page that referred you, and the internet address the request came from. On a mobile device that also covers the kind of device and its operating system. We use those logs to keep the site running, to count visits, and to look into problems and abuse.

The site also uses cookies for analytics, which the next section explains in full.

Cookies and Google Analytics

A cookie is a small file a website places on your device. We use Google Analytics 4, a service from Google, to understand how people use this site — which pages they look at, how they arrived, and whether the site works on their device. It is loaded through the Google tag (gtag.js), which we fetch from Google at www.googletagmanager.com.

The analytics tag does not load the moment you arrive. It waits until the page has finished its own work, or until you first interact with the page, whichever comes first. If you leave within a few seconds without touching anything, the tag usually never loads and no analytics cookie is set.

When it does load, Google Analytics sets two cookies in your browser. Both are persistent, which means they stay on your device after you close the browser, rather than being deleted when you close it:

  • _ga — stores a randomly generated identifier for your browser, so that a repeat visit can be told apart from a first one. It expires two years after it is last set.
  • _ga_ followed by the identifier of this site’s Google Analytics data stream — holds the state of your current visit, so that pages you look at one after another are counted as one visit rather than several. It expires two years after it is last set.

These cookies do not carry your name, your email address, or your phone number, and we do not join them to anything you send us through the contact form. Google receives the internet address your request came from as part of delivering the tag; in Google Analytics 4 that address is used to work out an approximate location and is not stored. Google also uses what it collects for its own purposes, which its privacy policy describes.

These are the only cookies this site sets.

Turning analytics off

  • Your browser can block or delete cookies, or tell you when one is being set. This site works the same either way — we simply do not see your visit in our totals.
  • Google publishes a browser add-on that stops Google Analytics running on any site, at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
  • Google describes what it collects on sites that use its tools at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

We do not show a cookie banner, and we do not ask you to agree to analytics cookies before they are set.

What this site does not use

Some things are common on websites and are worth naming, because this one does not do them:

  • No advertising or remarketing. We do not use advertising cookies, we do not build audiences from your visit, and we do not follow you to other websites to show you ads. Google Signals, the setting that would let Google join this information with signed-in Google accounts and advertising audiences, is turned off.
  • No social media sign-in or tracking. There is no Facebook, Google, X, Instagram or LinkedIn login on this site, and no social network pixel or share tracker.
  • No text-message marketing. This site has no SMS programme. If you give us your phone number on the contact form, we use it to reply to you.
  • No selling your information. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not hand it to anyone for their own marketing.

If any of this changes, this page changes with it before the change goes live.

How we use information

  • To show you the electricity plans available for the ZIP code you entered.
  • To answer your questions by email or phone, and to manage requests you make to us.
  • To keep the site working and secure, and to understand in aggregate how it is used, so that we can improve it.
  • To meet obligations that apply to us as a licensed Pennsylvania electricity broker, and to comply with the law.

When we share information

Companies that work for us

We use other companies to run this site and our business — website hosting and delivery, email, and the analytics described above. They process information on our instructions, to provide the service to us, and for no purpose of their own.

Our affiliates

We may share information with companies under common ownership with us. Where we do, we require them to handle it under this policy.

The supplier whose plan you choose

If you choose a plan and enroll, the enrollment happens in the shopping experience, and what you enter there goes to the supplier you chose so it can set up your service. That supplier handles your information under its own privacy policy.

If the business changes hands

If we are involved in a merger, an acquisition, or a sale of assets, information we hold may be transferred as part of it. We will say so on this page before information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

When the law requires it

We may disclose information where we believe in good faith that it is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, to respond to a valid request from a court or a government agency, to protect and defend our rights or property, to investigate possible wrongdoing connected with the site, to protect the personal safety of visitors or the public, or to protect against legal liability.

With your consent

We may share information for any other purpose you agree to.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes set out in this policy — to answer you, to keep a record of what we told you, to comply with legal obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce our agreements.

Delivery-network logs are kept for up to 13 months and then deleted automatically, unless we need them longer to look into a security problem or are required by law to keep them. Analytics information is generally kept for a shorter period than the messages you send us, except where it is needed to improve how the site works or where we are required to keep it longer.

Your choices and your rights

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@0cancellationfee.com or call 1-800-698-5853. Please note that we may need to keep some information where we have a legal obligation or another lawful basis to do so.

You never have to use the contact form. You can call or email us instead, and you can browse this site without sending us anything.

Where your information is processed

Your information is processed at our offices and wherever the companies that work for us are located, which may be outside Pennsylvania. Wherever it goes, we take the steps reasonably necessary to see that it is handled securely and in line with this policy.

Security

The security of your information matters to us. We take reasonable steps to protect it, including serving this site over an encrypted connection. But no method of sending information over the internet, and no method of electronic storage, is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Links to other websites

This site links to sites we do not operate, including the shopping experience and sites run by suppliers, your utility, and government bodies. We have no control over them and take no responsibility for their content or their privacy practices. We strongly advise you to read the privacy policy of every site you visit.

Children

This site is for adults shopping for residential electricity service, and it is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy at any time, without notice. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and update the date at the top. Changes take effect when they are posted, so please check back often.
